Since you're flying on a single ticket and not planning to leave the airport or go through immigration, you do not need a transit visa for Turkey. You would need to apply for a regular visa at the nearest Turkish Embassy or Consulate instead. Since your children are British citizens, they can travel visa-free, but you and your wife (both Nigerian passport holders) will have to go through the standard visa application process. Hey! I was in a similar boat—I'm a Sudanese national living in the UAE and I found out that Sudanese passports aren't eligible for Turkey's e‑visa or visa‑on‑arrival. So I ended up applying directly through the Turkish Embassy in Dubai, and that was the only option. For tourism, you'll need to submit things like your passport, UAE residency permit, flight & hotel bookings, bank statements, and the visa application form at the embassy.
