If you're just planning to stay in the lounge without leaving the airport, you’d usually need an airport transit visa. A Canadian citizen I know had a similar situation with a layover in Istanbul, and they were able to leave the airport without needing a visa. Since Canada is a visa-exempt country for Turkey, they didn’t need to apply for an eVisa for their short visit.
