However, when I tried to apply for an online eVisa, I noticed there was no option available for my nationality. Later, one of my friends informed me that we are not eligible to apply for an online eVisa and must instead apply for a sticker (regular) visa through the embassy or consulate. Hey Ghyslain, I’ve come across this situation before, so here’s what I know. If you’re just connecting through Istanbul on Turkish Airlines and staying in the international transit area without leaving the airport, you do not need a visa for Türkiye. The transit visa is only required if you exit the airport or go through immigration. Since you’re staying airside until your flight to Geneva, you’re fine without a visa. Just make sure both flights are on the same ticket so you don’t need to collect baggage or re-check-in, because that would require going landside — and then you’d need a visa.
