Turkey eVisa Rejection
Approved Turkey eVisa lets eligible travellers visit the country for tourism or business. However, a small mistake or an unmet requirement can lead to eVisa application rejection. These are the main reasons.
Common Reasons for Turkey eVisa Rejection
1. Traveller Not Eligible for an eVisa
All nationality or passport type are not eligible for Turkey eVisa. Some travellers also need a valid sticker visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, the UK, USA or Ireland. If this rule applies to a traveller and they cannot meet it, the application may not proceed.
2. Passport Validity Is Too Short
The passport must remain valid for at least 6 months beyond the permitted stay in Turkey. If the passport does not meet this requirement, the application might get rejected.
3. Wrong Passport Details
An incorrect passport number, name, nationality or birth date can lead to application rejection. All details that the applicant provide in the application must match the passport being used for travel. eVisa once issued cannot simply be edited.
4. Invalid Supporting Documents
Certain Turkey eVisa eligible nationalities need a qualifying visa or residence permit to apply. It must be valid on the day they enter Turkey. Even after the eVisa has been issued, airline staff or immigration officers at the Turkey border may check the document and refuse boarding or entry if the conditions are not met.
5. Wrong Travel Purpose
Turkey eVisa only allows tourism and attending short-term business meetings, trade fairs etc. It cannot be used to take up employment or study in the country. If your travel purpose is outside the scope of the eVisa and you still apply then the application will get rejected.
6. Previous Immigration Problems
An entry ban, previous overstay or unpaid immigration penalties may affect travel permission. But one past overstay does not automatically mean future applications will be refused.
7. False Information
Uploading fake/ forged documents or providing false details in the application form may lead to a eVisa application being refused or cancelled.
Is a Failed Payment a Rejection?
No. When a payment fails, the application may simply remain incomplete. This is not the same as an eVisa rejection.
What to Do if Your Turkey eVisa Is Rejected?

First check email to know whether the application was actually refused, could not be processed, or contains a mistake. Review the passport details and eligibility conditions.
If the information is wrong, a new application needs to be submitted. If new application cannot be submitted, the applicant is required to obtain the visa through Turkish embassy or consulate. If you have any query you can contact the Turkey visa support.
