Istanbul Airport Improves Visa Rules
Recorded Video Script
Flying through Istanbul soon? A new rule may change your transit plans. From 15 April 2024, passengers from ten countries must now carry a special transit visa if they’re connecting flights to Mexico, Panama, Colombia, or Venezuela. This applies to citizens of Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Guinea, India, Mauritania, Nepal, Somalia, and Yemen. Travellers will need to have this visa ready along with their boarding passes when passing through airport checks. Without it, you may be denied boarding for your connecting flight. Authorities are tightening transit rules to boost security. Stay prepared, carry the right documents, and enjoy a smooth journey through Istanbul.
