My name is Fatima Alaoua, and I am a Moroccan citizen currently studying Medicine in Girne, North Cyprus, under a valid student residence permit. I have been accepted to participate in a medical exchange program in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University Clinical Hospital Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 1 August 2026 to 31 August 2026. I have already received my official invitation letter from the hosting organization. I would like to kindly request information regarding the visa application procedure in your consulate in Istanbul. In particular, I would appreciate guidance on the following points: 1. Whether I am eligible to apply for a visa at your consulate in Istanbul. 2. The type of visa I should apply for (short-stay / student exchange visa). 3. Whether an appointment is required for submitting the application. 4. The full list of required documents for my situation. 5. The processing time and visa fees. 6. Whether any part of the application process can be completed online. As this is my first time applying for a visa for Bosnia and Herzegovina, I would be very grateful for your guidance on the correct procedure.

Greetings, My name is Medina Mahic and my uncle, Jusuf Bahtic, passed away in Izmir, Turkey on Friday August 22nd, 2025. Jusuf Bahtic was born in Bosnia on July 9, 1960. My uncle and aunt, Jusuf and Ifeta Bahtic, are United States Citizens and were on vacation in Izmir. We have also sent an email to the embassy in Istanbul, Turkey and waiting for a response. The deceased, Jusuf Bahtic, is in the process of being transported to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday morning. While most of his family is located in Chicago, IL USA, we are hoping that we can receive a death certificate or some sort of documentation of his passing in Turkey. We understand that the paperwork is given after the completion of the dzenaza (burial), however we are hoping that by obtaining this documentation - we are able to speed up all needed processes here in the U.S for his spouse, Ifeta. We are still unsure of the exact date in which his burial will take place. In addition, my family had travel plans for Croatia on 08/23/2025 - they are not able to travel due to this tragic loss in our family. The hotel is also inquiring proof as well. Please, I am reaching out to you because Jusuf & Ifeta do not have children of their own. We are the only thing that they have here. We are hoping you are able to help us with this. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank You, Medina Mahic Chicago, IL. USA. I can be reached directly by phone at (773) 808-3731
