With effect from 2nd January 2026, nationals of the Republic of China holding ordinary or official passports can enter Turkey without a visa. However, the final entry is subject to approval by immigration officials.

Passport and Entry Requirements

Even after falling under a visa-exempt policy, Chinese passport holders are required to prepare essential documents before travelling to Turkey to comply with Turkish immigration regulations.

Passport Requirements

• Validity: The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival in Turkey.
• Condition: The passport must be in good condition with no tears, stains, or creases. 
• MRZ inclusion: Thepassport must have a machine-readable zone to facilitate scanning at immigration. 
• Blank Pages: The passport must have 2-3 blank pages for entry and exit stamps. 

Possible Additional Requirements

Immigration Officials at the port of arrival may also request: 

• Travel Tickets to prove your intended exit from Turkey.
• Accommodation booking confirming your stay in Turkey.
• Proof of sufficient funds to cover your expenses during your stay.

Validity & Stay Duration for Chinese Citizens Visiting Turkey

PRC Ordinary Passport Holders

Ordinary passport holders may visit Türkiye visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

PRC Official Passport Holders

Official passport holders may visit Türkiye visa-free for stays of up to 30 days. 

Macao SAR Passport Holders

Ordinary and official Macao SAR passport holders may visit Türkiye visa-free for up to 30 days.

Hong Kong SAR Passport Holders

Ordinary and official Hong Kong SAR passport holders may visit Türkiye visa-free for up to 90 days.

Note: Chinese official passports generally include diplomatic, service and other official passport categories. Travellers should confirm the rule applicable to their exact passport type before departure.

SAR stands for “Special Administrative Region". These passports are issued to residents of Macao and Hong Kong and provide certain travel privileges different from regular Chinese passports.
